Plot is located very near the State Park Boundary. The State Park boundary is adjacent to the Bluestone National Scenic River, managed by the National Park Service.;Flat spot on ridge half way down the gorge. Evidence of habitation including rock piles and large white pine evenly spaced. On edges of pine, dominance is large white oak (see plot PIPE.1). Long abandoned "old growth" small swale adjacent (still on ridge) has rock piles with large trees (in or on?) and dominance by Thelypteris novaboracensis (= fern gulley).
